| The mission of the American Association of School Librarians is to advocate excellence, facilitate change, and develop leaders in the school library field. NCSLMA's current President, President-Elect, and Past President serve as liaisons to AASL's Affiliate Assembly at ALA's Annual and Midwinter conferences. |
| A chapter of the American Library Association and the Southeastern Library Association, the North Carolina Library Association is the only statewide organization concerned with the total library community in North Carolina. Our purpose is to promote libraries, library and information services, librarianship, intellectual freedom and literacy. |
