Hello everyone! I am excited to introduce Page Turners, the NCSLMA Grown-Up Book Club!

This idea grew from Brew Crew (if you're not attending Brew Crews, you really should - we talk about a LOT of stuff). We brainstormed and thought this format could work best for our members.

This a crowd-sourced book club. We will meet monthly on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 9:30am with a new book at each meeting. The book titles will be submitted and voted on by people who sign up. Majority rules. :-)

The meeting schedule will be as follows:

  • January 21 - Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

  • February 18 - Mad Honey by Jodi Piccoult

  • March 18 - The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles

  • April 15 - Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

  • May 20 - Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver

  • June 17

  • July 15

  • August 19

  • September 16

  • October - Meet at conference

  • November 18

  • December 16

Some goals we have include asking the author of the book that month to pop in for a cameo. We will create a private space so we can discuss the club and the books, especially for those who can't make a meeting here and there. Because we have so many people signed up (what an awesome problem to have!), we will meet for a few minutes as a group, then adjourn to breakout rooms to discuss on a smaller scale. The agenda and study guide will be shared with everyone a couple of days before the meeting so everyone is on the same page (hahahahahaha).

We thank you for your patience as we build this book club. :-)

If you're still reading and you're interested, please register!

The link for our Google Meet will be in your confirmation e-mail.

Please visit the Page Turners webpage at ncslma.org/pageturners for information and for the discussion forum.
