Our 1st NCSLMA State School Library Legislative Day will be Monday, May 20, 2019. NCSLMA is looking for volunteers that are interested in advocating on a state level for libraries/librarians. WE NEED YOU! We are looking for volunteers to:
a) be willing to meet with your state legislator (who is on an Education or Appropriations Committee) on May 20, and
b) open your library at a later date for a visit from your state legislator.
We are looking for volunteer librarians from the following districts:
We will also invite legislators and aides to a "Meet and Greet" Ice Cream Social from 11am-1pm where we will be sharing the importance of school librarians and library funding. We hope you will consider joining us!
Thanks for your advocacy! Stipends may be available to those who qualify from listed districts (amount will be determined by available advocacy/legislative budget and quantity of volunteers who apply).
